Sobre as aulas de conversação da Speaking: Eu só tenho elogios para a Speaking, a boa infraestrutura da escola e a rápida adaptação no momento da pandemia sem perder a qualidade do ensino. Os professores têm conhecimento e didática, também, sempre estão dispostos para tirar dúvidas e trazer temas relevantes. Além disso, eles são nativos o que é um um grande diferencial para uma turma de conversação. O apoio da Speaking na Unifei é muito motivador. Essa parceria possibilita e possibilitou o crescimento de grandes projetos e a divulgação da universidade que faço parte. A Dagmar e as funcionárias sempre muito atenciosas e educadas conosco, buscam sempre nos atender da melhor forma possível. Uma pena que meu contrato se encerrará em Setembro. Sem dúvida alguma, eu indico a Speaking para aqueles que querem aprender um idioma de forma rápida, eficiente e ter uma experiência incrível.

Sei que muitos de vocês estão na dúvida sobre fazer ou não um curso de idioma e onde. Pra dar uma clareada, vou contar minha experiência (ATENÇÃO, MINHA!) como ex aluno da Speaking Idiomas. Antes mesmo de entrar na UNIFEI ano passado, eu já sabia da importância de ter um curso de idioma no meu currículo. Sabendo também que inglês é universal e extremamente importante no mercado de trabalho, logo no início do ano saí na busca de uma escola. Minha base no inglês era muito fraca em todos os sentidos, logo precisava de uma escola que abordasse todos os seguimentos da língua (Vocabulário, Gramática, Listening e Speaking). O diferencial encontrado na Speaking, foi seu plano de estudos intensivo (1h de aula por dia de segunda a sexta-feira), contato com professores nativos, plataforma online de estudos pra praticar (ainda mais) o conteúdo visto em sala de aula e uma infraestrutura ímpar. No primeiro semestre tive aulas com professores brasileiros, mas profundos conhecedores da língua inglesa. Foi com eles que ganhei um conhecimento gigantesco e uma base sólida para a chegada dos professores nativos. Já no segundo semestre, as aulas passaram a ser ministradas por professores estadunidenses. Nessa etapa, além de aprofundar os seguimentos da língua já acima mencionados, pude ter um contato muito grande com a cultura de outro país. Ao final do curso, já me sentia confiante em conversar e expor minhas opiniões sobre os mais diversos assuntos. Como disse no começo, essa é uma experiência PESSOAL. Mas, se estiverem procurando uma escola de idiomas, recomendo fortemente que passem na escola para conhecer e tirarem suas próprias conclusões.

Trabalhar na Speaking foi, sem dúvida, uma experiência incrível! Voltei dos EUA após um ano de intercâmbio, minha vontade de passar aquilo que eu tinha aprendido era grande, e sem dúvida, a confiança que a Speaking depositou em mim foi muito gratificante. O alto-astral da escola, das meninas da secretaria, dos outros professores e claro, da nossa mãezona Dagmar, me faziam chegar todos os dias com uma energia boa, que era compartilhada com os alunos de uma forma muito gostosa. Sou colombiana graduada do curso de mestrado em Engenharia de Energía da UNIFEI em Itajubá. Durante minha estadia no Brasil, eu fui professora dos cursos de Espanhol da Speaking. A escola foi fundamental para a minha formação, pois me colocaram em contato com as melhores metodologías de ensino de idiomas e com um excelente corpo docente e administrativo, pessoal amigo e sempre preocupado pelo aprendizado dos estudantes. Amei meu trabalho com os alunos brasileiros em grupos, grandes e pequenos, o convivio agradável com os colegas de varias culturas e as aulas de acordo com os gostos e objetivos dos alunos, além do contexto cultural do meu país e dos outros países hispanos que conseguí transmitir para eles a través do ensino do espanhol.

Bom, a Escola Speaking foi meu primeiro emprego. E meu primeiro e único como professor de Inglês... Lembro que era aluno do Speaking, pois tinha acabado de chegar de uma temporada dos EUA e como não queria perder meu Inglês, resolvi entrar nas aulas de Conversações onde a Dagmar era a professora. Eu, o Benicio e o Guilherme... Lembro demais! E como estávamos "fresquinhos" no Inglês, pintou o convite para dar aula no Speaking! Fiquei assustado no inicio. Experiência nova, timidez de falar em publico, mas topei a idéia! E foi super gratificante. Fui professor até de Professores da EFEI e era a turma que eu mais gostava de dar aula. E como sabemos, nós aprendemos muito quando ensinamos e perdi o medo de falar em público. Sou muito grato a Escola Speaking pelo tempo que passei nela, pelo o que eu aprendi e ensinei! E hoje acho que com 15 anos mais tarde, estou aqui em Teresina, minha terra natal, trabalhando como engenheiro eletricista, dono de meu proprio negocio e com imensas responsabilidades. Durante uns 3 anos fui professor do Speaking dando aulas à noite. A maior parte da galera era da EFEI e comecei quando a escola ainda era na rua nova... Acho que acabei ficando bom em dar aula. Adquiri confiança pra falar em público e hoje sou o responsável pelos treinamentos para clientes na minha empresa e tenho sido convidado para palestras em faculdades. O Speaking era um lugar pra ver os amigos, conhecer gente nova, assistir filmes (a internet nem sempre teve tudo...) e praticar meu "English" e "German". Sempre vi a escola como inovadora em Itajubá. "Thanks to" Dagmar que cuida de todo mundo, alunos e professores, como se fossem da família.

I worked for Speaking from February until December of 2006. Living and working in Itajubá was my first experience as an EFL teacher, and a great experience it was. Dagmar, the secretaries at the school, and my fellow teachers all went out of their way to make my experience as fun and rewarding as possible. The school had a real convivial atmosphere, there were teachers from Germany, the US, China, Cuba, Colombia, and all over Brazil. We came together to study each others' languages, share our cultures, and have some fun as well. This year was a very positive experience for me, and I learned quite a bit, even Portuguese. I have talked to a lot of other EFL teachers who I studied with, and who I've met traveling, and I feel really lucky to have had my first year here. Studying (and working) at Speaking is not just learning a language, but the entire culture associated with that language. There's simply no better way to learn.

Sou mais uma sortuda por ter feito parte do quadro de funcionários e alunos do speaking. Uma escola com pensamento e ações voltados sempre para os alunos e com busca de melhoria através de treinamentos, eventos, promoções, excelente material e um profissionalismo inagualável. Só tenho a agradecer; não tenho dúvidas que quem só ganhou fui eu, ao fazer parte desta equipe Speaking. Uma escola que não só SPEAKS, mas FAZ acontecer !!!!!

I had never traveled abroad before. Then I decided to trade the day job for an ESL teaching position with Speaking. The experience was one that I'll never forget. Friends that I made left an indelible impression on me - both fellow teachers and students alike. The city is full of wonderful people from all corners of Brazil and the staff at the school quickly became my second family. If not for unforeseen circumstances, I believe I would have stayed indefinitely. For anyone considering studying at Speaking I highly recommend that you take the opportunity in Itajubá to learn from the hippest native speakers in the city. For those of you considering teaching at Speaking, it is an organization run by the most accommodating family of friends you could imagine. Would I do it again? I wouldn't trade my time in Itajubá for anything in the world. Cheers from afar, com muito saudades!

Where and how do i begin to explain how much of a true blessing it was to work at Speaking? When i arrived, i knew very little about where i was going other than it was in Brazil and would be teaching English for a wonderful woman named Dagmar. I cannot express the profound experience that my time there had on me, other than to say that I have grown greatly as a person. Upon arrival, any doubt I had disappeared instantly as a result of the courteous and gracious manner of all the people affiliated with the Speaking Organization. The teaching was absolutely amazing. The city of Itajuba, amazing. Never have I worked and stayed in such a relaxed and hospitable environment. Brazil is amazing, the people are wonderful, and the travel is unlike anything you have ever seen. There can be no regret with such an experience. Sincerely, thank you for everything.

I have to be honest teaching English is not something that I ever thought I would do. Although I’m a native of the language I really didn’t learn a lot of grammar through my schooling and the language itself was something I took for granted everyday I guess. When I moved to Brasil for a lovely young Brasileiria! I had just finished almost four years study in Acupuncture and I had high hopes of being successful quickly in Brasil. This didn’t happen…..so the only thing I could really do was teach some English while things got better with my practice. I used to walk passed Speaking most days to go and eat my daily intake of “acai” (just one of the amazing thing’s about Brasil!) and thought I would check out if there was anything on offer there. I was really quite worried to tell you the truth about teaching English as I had never done it before and thought of getting up in front of people freaked me out. After two minutes of meeting with Dagmar I knew that this was going to be a cool experience, Dagmar showed me around and explained how things would work, everything from the material to the general running of the school, it was great. I am now back in Australia doing a little more study in my profession but when I think of Brasil I really do think of Speaking a lot. My time there was really fun and I feel I learnt as much about English as the students. The way Dagmar has the school running is a credit to her as a person, she is always happy trying to make things as fun as possible, which can be hard sometimes when learning is the number one priority. I ended up gaining some really good mates from my time there at speaking too, the teacher’s hangout quite a lot and it was always cool to be there. I feel really fortunate for my time in Brasil and meeting with Dagmar and my experience as a teacher at Speaking has a lot to do with that. S we would say in Aus, cheer’s mate!

The teaching experience at Speaking was a very good opportunity to get to know new people. I came to Itajubá without knowing anybody. On top of that I hardly spoke the language. Teaching helped me to cope better with the new environment and the new language. I absolutely liked giving classes. I had so much fun with the students and I'm covinced they still learned something ;). Apart from getting to know new people and having fun with the students teaching helped me to enhance my communication skills which is very helpful now at the beginning of my professional career. Last but not least, I want recommend two things. First, students, Speaking is a very good language school, because you can learn the language with native speakers, who are very motivated. Second, teachers, whilst teaching at Speaking you can be very creative to design to classes. This helps both, students and teachers, and is a challenging and interesting task.

It has been about a year and a half since I returned from my teaching experience in Brazil. I look forward to the day when I can afford to go back. I would recommend Brazil to anybody looking for a place to teach or travel in. Let me say this first - I spent a lot of time on this site looking for information on foreign lands to teach in and it was an excellent source of information. However, keep in mind the variety of people who use it. While some may have had a genuinely bad experience others may just have a bad attitude or aren't willing to adapt a bit to other cultures. If this is the case, you aren't going to have much positive to report. Don't take all the negative bitching to heart and do your own research before you make any decisions. I spent just short of seven months teaching at "Speaking" in Itajuba, Minas Gerais. This school has been the subject of a few of these now and I will briefly touch on my experience. It was nothing short of wonderful. From the first day I arrived I felt like I was part of a family. The director, Dagmar, did everything in her power to make me feel right at home. She invited me to stay with her until I found other housing, drove me around the city introducing me to many past and present students and teachers and helped me to locate housing within the city. The school was well equipped and the students were fantastic. The city is full of university students but is a bit on the small side if you are used to a thriving metropolis. All in all, I had a fantastic time and would have stayed longer if my visa hadn't forced me to leave the country. I went to Brazil with a tourist visa good for three months, extended it with no problems for another three months and then stayed a few weeks after my visa expired. They imposed a fine of R$8 per day at the airport and I had to pay it. Working visas seem to be just short of impossible to get unless your employer is willing to shell out a lot of money and time in getting you one. I tried to get a student visa once I was there (under the pretense of studying Portuguese) but it can only be done in the country of your residency - no doing it in a Brazilian embassy in Argentina for example. If you do get a job before you leave, ask your employer about this as it will allow you to stay longer. I had my job secured before I left for Brazil. This made me feel a little better about packing up and going but once I got there and saw the abundance of English schools I realized that it wouldn't be very hard to go there first and get a job second. The best times to do this would be after their breaks in mid-July and just after the New Year. Brazil has it all from perfect tropical beaches and lush mountains to vibrant cities, wonderfully open people, cheap travel and a rich history. Their attitude towards life is refreshing, their beer is always cold and it is hard to imagine running out of places to visit. While their feelings towards the United States can be a bit negative they won't hold it against you if you are genuine person looking to live and learn in their beautiful country. Se você estiver procurando apenas uma escola de idiomas, não vá ao Speaking, pois lá é muitooo mais que isso, lá você conhece pessoas, cria laços invisíveis e quando se dá conta já está amarrado à eles. Foram cinco anos de experiência de vida e amigos incontáveis. Foram cinco anos de cumplicidade nos altos e baixos (pessoal e profissional). Ahh, claro, não deixando de falar da Escola, o melhor de ser professor não é só ensinar mas aprender e, principalmente, ver a evolução dos seus "meninos" (alguns bem mais velhos, rs). Cada aula era imprevisível mas cada ano uma surpresa, os "meninos" quando se davam conta estavam tomando seus rumos com uma bagagem que alguns não acreditavam ser capaz de conquistar, portanto o nome da ESCOLA se da pelo que se aprende, vive e leva de lá e isso é comprovado pelo sucesso dos "meninos" na vida e no profissional, que encontro e dizem: obrigada, sinto sua falta. Assim como posso dizer: SPEAKING, OBRIGADA!

Sou bastante grato pela oportunidade de trabalhar como professor de inglês no Speaking, durante a conclusão da minha graduação na UNIFEI. Foi uma experiência de vida bem interessante e poder ter uma conversa em inglês com alguém que não sabia responder "How are you?" no primeiro dia de aula é bem gratificante. Pude desenvolver habilidades interpessoais, além da habilidade de falar em público, treinar e aperfeiçoar a cada dia o meu inglês. O método aplicado pela escola é, na minha opinião, a melhor forma de se aprender, devido ao fato de proporcionar conversas e situações vividas no dia a dia e não apenas uma mera repetição de frases escritas num livro. Foi um prazer trabalhar com um grupo de profissionais responsáveis e capacitados formando uma ótima equipe de trabalho. Grande abraço aos alunos e colegas

A vida é repleta de escolhas, e devemos estar sempre atentos a elas, pois os frutos que colheremos impactarão decisivamente o nosso futuro. Eu sempre soube que estudar no Speaking seria, sem sombra de dúvidas, a melhor escolha que eu poderia ter feito enquanto aluno universitário desejoso de aprender uma língua estrangeira, mas eu não imaginava que eu seria tão positivamente surpreendido. Além do ensino de qualidade, ministrado por professores extremamente competentes e comprometidos com o aprendizado do aluno, e da metodologia atualizada e eficaz, no Speaking, eu pude usufruir de uma infra-estrutura e de um ambiente educacional, e por que não dizer familiar, que foram fundamentais para meu desempenho em exames de proficiência e para meu preparo como futuro profissional. Prazer ainda maior do que ter sido aluno do Speaking, é ter recebido o convite, alguns anos mais tarde, para me tornar professor dessa mesma escola. Só quem já foi aluno, tem a capacidade de entender o que o aluno espera de uma escola de idiomas comprometida e focada no aprendizado individual. Well, I will write in English because I want foreigners who are thinking about coming to teach at Speaking to be able to read. Honestly, I am bias when I say anything about Speaking. This is because the time I spent there changed my life in so many ways for the better. I am not a native of Itajubá, but the time I spent in that city influenced my life much more than my 6 years in New York City or the 2 years in São Paulo, where I live now. I think it's because in Itajubá I learned about the natural beauty of Brazil, the mountains, the waterfalls, the animals, the respect for nature, the value of the simple things. I learned about what it means to be Brazilian, I learned about the soul of my country where I had spent so many years away from. And mostly, and most importantly, I learned about its people. It was pure luck when I got a job there substituting for an American teacher who had to return to the USA due to an emergency. I needed to make some extra money at the time, so I took on the job and with it the great responsibility. It is funny how the best things in life come truly unexpectedly. The experience of teaching at Speaking alone made me go back to school the next semester and change my major from Nutrition to English Education. Ever since then, 11 years later, my greatest passion has been working with languages, student exchange, and internationalisation of education. The staff, the students, and the energy there make for a great learning environment. The people I have met there, the people who I have influenced and who have influenced me from 2002 until today are true friends and role models who I will carry in my heart forever. Thank you Dagmar, thanks to all my old students and all secretaries, coworkers, and friends for being such an incredible part of my life. Even though I am far away now, I never forget where my heart is.

Durante alguns meses fui professora na Speaking e lá tive a oportunidade de conhecer uma grande escola de idiomas. Lá pude perceber que o aluno não vai às aulas apenas para absorver uma nova língua, os alunos vivenciam outra cultura, dividem dificuldades e acumulam novas experiências. Não é só mais uma escola de idiomas, é uma oportunidade de crescer pessoalmente e profissionalmente, tanto para o aluno quanto para o professor. E esse ponto é algo que me motivou muito, pois o professor é bem valorizado e realmente é visto com respeito e dignidade, na Speaking o professor não é apenas um colaborador, o professor é um propagador de conhecimento. Além do que todos os colaboradores estão dispostos para ajudar qualquer pessoa em qualquer momento. Tive momentos muito agradáveis e importantes da minha vida na Speaking.

Gostaria de deixar aqui meus sinceros agradecimentos à Speaking Idiomas por todo aprendizado já adquirido. O método didático, a estrutura física, os materiais de apoio são ótimos. A disposição dos professores brasileiros e estrangeiros nas dúvidas sejam elas em sala de aula ou em ambiente virtual são excelentes. O acolhimento das meninas da recepção, a proprietária e os colegas de turma são incrivelmente especiais. Voltando para minha cidade natal depois de longos 4 anos na Irlanda, comecei a ensinar inglês no Speaking com o meu estranho sotaque Irlandês e no começo não foi fácil, ninguém compreendia direito a pronuncia das palavras. Mas deu certo. Através do treinamento recebido pelo Speaking, desenvolvi em sala de aula seu fiel método de ensino Interativo Comunicativo onde o aluno aprende a falar o idioma. Ao ensinar no Speaking eu aprendi, e com a aprendizagem, eu ensinei melhor. A experiência foi ter emoção, cada dia um desafio e cada aluno uma lição. Fui capaz de enxergar o progresso dos alunos, onde aterrizaram lá, e nem sequer sabiam os números em inglês. Ser professor no Speaking foi realizar desejos, mostrar caminhos e partilhar alegrias. Desde sua criação, o Speaking oferece ao aluno o que há de mais moderno no ensino de idiomas através de material eficiente, inovador e de uma excelente equipe de profissionais, principalmente as belas secretárias.
